Bangka Island’s shrimp production is affected due to positive EMS (Early Mortality Syndrome) results in shrimp. Shrimps are dying due to EMS causing hepatopancreas (HP) organ damage in shrimp. If EMS is not controlled immediately, it will decrease the production output of shrimp since EMS outbreaks can cause mortality rates of over 50%. An increased mortality rate of shrimp will cause an increase in FCR (Feed Conversion Rate) which causes huge losses for shrimp farmers.
