European macadamia market key for Hawaiian producers

Hawaii is one of the largest producers and exporters of macadamia nuts in the world. Though sales to the continental US make up a significant portion of exports, producers have a growing interest in the European market as prices are often higher. Germany, the Netherlands, Spain, United Kingdom, France, and Italy are the leading importers in Europe and together make up the second-largest import market after the US.
