Pakistan produces 2.4M mt of citrus annually, and its exports are about 20% of its production. According to the Korean Trade and Investment Department of the Ministry of Commerce (MoC) there is a latent potential for Pakistani Kinnow mandarin to be imported to South Korea. In this regard, MoC has approached the Department of Plant Protection (DPP) in Pakistan to commence permission for Kinnow mandarin exports to Korea. The DDP will send a dossier of pest risk assessments (PRA) to the National Plant Protection Organization (NPPO) in Korea to receive permission to start exports.
