By the end of January 2023, the Chinese approval licenses of most Indian shrimp factories are expiring. There is no clear information from the authorities regarding the renewal of these licenses. The exporters are afraid to dispatch shrimp containers to China as their licenses would have expired by the ETA of these containers. Chinese importers have also halted their Indian shrimp purchases. So the export of shrimp to China has slowed down considerably, and this has caused a decrease in raw material demand. As a result, Indian shrimp export prices to other markets, including the EU and the US, will likely decline in the upcoming months.
