Vietnam Achieves Remarkable 13.8% YoY Surge in Pepper Exports in 2023 Despite an 8% YoY Drop in Export Value

By the end of 2023, Vietnam successfully exported a diverse range of peppers, totaling 264.09 thousand tons, a 13.8% year-over-year (YoY) increase. However, the export value experienced a decrease of 8% YoY.

Additionally, Vietnam's pepper exports to Asia grew by 29.6% YoY compared to 2022, with Asia accounting for 52.7% of the total. China played a pivotal role in this market, leading with 60.13 thousand tons, with a 22.8% share, experiencing an outstanding growth rate of 174%. Other significant markets included India, the Philippines, and the Americas, with the latter holding the second-largest export share at 22.8%, albeit with a marginal 0.3% growth. The United States (US), as Vietnam's second-largest export market, witnessed a slight decrease of 0.8% YoY, with 54.27 thousand tons, constituting 20.5% of the total exports.
