The season has just started for Berries growers in Spain, with the first strawberry and raspberry batches successfully reaching European supermarket shelves in less than 72 hours. By this time of the year, the producers appear reluctant to export overseas due to the loss of control over temperature during air transportation and import duties, and transit time, which delay the distribution to sales points and shorten the shelf life.
Spanish blueberries are generally more delicate than Peruvian ones. Therefore, if not almost mandatory, it is highly recommended to use thermal blankets during air freight to guarantee freshness and quality at the destination.
