Ecuador's Canned Tuna industry lacks suppliers that have an active Kosher certification. The reason for this, is that very few markets require this certification, and renewing it costs around USD 15K, and suppliers do not see the benefit of it. Some suppliers are offering an alternative to clients to send their Rabbis for a site visit to certify the product as Kosher.
