The French government is expected to lift the ban on certain pesticides accused of harming bees to protect sugar beet crops ravaged by insects this year. The government plans to support a legislative amendment in parliament later this year. The latter will exempt sugar beet for a period of up to three years from a blanket neonicotinoid ban.
