Fresh Banana Exports in Colombia Decreased During 2022

In Colombia, fresh banana exports decreased in 2022 compared to 2021. The exported volume in 2021 reached 1.97M tons, and during 2022 volume dropped to 1.82M tons representing a 7.2% drop. Exporters attributed the fall to unfavorable weather conditions and unstable international prices. Antioquia is still the top exporter department holding 51.65% of total exports, whereas the Caribbean area represents 48.35%.
