According to the data released by GACC recently, the amount of beef imported into China in August was 270K MT, accounting for USD 1.81B. Compared to the figures of July, the average prices in August have decreased to USD 6.72/kg from USD 6.83/kg in July. The data on pork in August shows that the total imported volume was 140K MT, accounting for USD 305M. The average price of pork was USD 2.18/kg in August while it was USD 2.08/kg in July, which is a 4.8% increase MoM. As for mutton, Chinese buyers purchased 26K MT of mutton in August, which accounts for USD 138M. The average price in August approached USD 5.32/kg, compared to USD 5.54/kg in July, which is a decrease of 3.87% MoM. In terms of poultry, market participants in China purchased 46K MT of poultry in August, for a total of USD 119M. The average price in August is USD 2.60/kg, which is a 13% increase MoM compared to the figure of July.
