Megrim, or Cornish sole as it is sometimes known in the UK, is a flatfish species and grows to around 35cm to 60cm in length and weighs roughly 250g to 1.5kgs. This fish has a delicious flavor, similar to other flatfish species, with tender meat roasted with butter and lemon. Megrim is very popular in Spain and France and widely available in the UK from healthy stocks. It can be a reasonably-priced alternative to the more popular flatfish species, and presently the whole megrim is sold at wholesale markets at around USD 8.13/kg for smaller sizes and around USD 11.89/kg for the larger sizes.
