Prices of Smooth Cayenne increased by 36% at the beginning of the year as the prices of logistics increased, and the Ghanaian cedi lost value against the major trading currencies. A carton box of 12kg pineapples closed in 2021 at FOB EUR 4.41. In 2022 prices rose to EUR 6. Ghana's cedi has depreciated by nearly 5%, which has a knock-on effect on fuel and packaging products.
