Locally produced ginseng in Malaysia for consumption and imported ginseng for medicinal purpose

Ginseng from Malaysia is not as popular as ginseng produced Korea or the USA. The root grown in Sabah is often used in cooking and can be found in the local markets. The local suppliers are preferred as it is easier to source the supplies and they remain fresh for a longer time. The region however imports high-quality Korean ginseng for medical purpose. Korean ginseng is more expensive in comparison to the local produce.
