According to a French wholesaler, the demand for fresh and sound table grapes of the Red Globe variety is good. This is due to the reduced volumes available at this moment on the market, especially those of fresh, good quality. The last substantial arrivals of this product from Peru were registered during the first two weeks of March. Currently, the remaining stocks are running out of shelf life and clients are looking for an alternative, which in this case, is Chile. However, Chilean growers have not shipped the same volumes compared to the previous year (in terms of boxes, it's down by 35% at Week 14), due to the good demand in Asia, as well as due to a lack of space on the vessels intended for the European market. This is reflected in the average sales price, which is between EUR 17 to 19 for 8.2kg.
