In Jan-24, seafood exports reached nearly USD 750 million, a 64% increase compared to Jan-23. It's worth noting that in 2023, the Lunar New Year fell in January. Even when adjusted for this seasonal factor, the sales in Jan-24 were still around 24 to 25% higher, which is a positive sign for the beginning of 2024. Among the key products, significant breakthroughs were observed compared to the same period in 2023: shrimp increased by 71%, catfish by 97%, tuna by 57%, squid by 45%, and other fish by 50%. Regarding the market, the most remarkable breakthrough was seen in China & Hong Kong (HK), with exports more than tripling. Exports to the United States (US) increased by 63%, to Japan by 43%, and to the European Union (EU) by 34%.
