Taiwan reports 3,859 new COVID-19 cases, including 3,766 domestic on 22 April. The number of domestic cases reaches another single-day high. Also, more than 1,000 daily local cases this week. This is the third year of the Covid-19 pandemic, and the number of confirmed cases in Taiwan has exceeded thousands for the first time. Plus it is raining almost the whole week, the market is less with customers to visit this week.

The market is still dominated by the grapes, they are mainly from Chile or Australia. Due to the pandemic of covid-19, the freight shipping schedule is chaotic and the shipping fee has increased dramatically. This year, it is the first time, we can see importers introduce air Chilean grapes - Cotton Candy, to the market. The market prices are set at USD 78.54/ctn and close at USD 61.46-68.29/ctn. According to wholesalers, since the transit days by air is much shorter than by sea, the grapes are of better quality compared to sea grapes.
Even though the price is high, the customers are still interested in taking quality fruits. Although the movement of the Australian grape is not as good as Chilean ones, the overall market price reaches another new high due to the factors mentioned above. The market prices were set at USD 51.22/ctn and closed at USD 34.15-40.97/ctn.
