The apricot harvest has started in Turkey in late June. According to growers and producers, there will be a shortage in jumbo and large dried apricots in 2022. The general quality of the fruit is expected to be of lower quality than the last season. Also the fruit size is smaller, meaning size 5-6-7-8 will be more abundant in supply. Due to the lower quality, industrial apricot will be more available compared to the 2021 crop. Despite the decreased quality and size, prices will not drop because there was not an adequate carryover stock from the last season. Until the new dried apricot export season in August 2022 begins, the carryover stocks will be exported.
