Fresh limes imported from Guangdong, China, into Vietnam, have experienced a significant price increase, nearly three times higher than locally produced Vietnamese limes in Nov-23. Vietnamese seedless limes were sold at prices ranging from USD 0.83 to 1.04 per kilogram (kg), whereas Guangdong limes were priced between USD 2.3 and 2.5/kg. Traders attribute this price surge to the growing popularity of hand-pounded lime tea among Vietnamese youth, a trend that has gained traction in cities like Ho Chi Minh City and Hanoi.
