Guatemala cardamom export prices by 43% in January 2022 compared to the exact same period last year.

During January 2022 Guatemala cardamom export value was +USD 49.6M, a decrease of 48% compared to +USD 95.7M in January 2021. Main reason was a decrease of price per kg and also a decrease in exported volume. Price for a kilogram of green cardamom in January 2022 was $10.26, 43% lower than $17.93/kg in 2021. In 2021 total export value was 40% lower than in 2020, now exporters are worried that export prices will keep decreasing during 2022.
