The rains that hit the São Francisco valley are causing quality problems. The main problems include anthracnose and a physiological disorder called "Internal collapse." Producers have chosen to sell their crops to the domestic market, as these problems significantly reduce the shelf life of mangoes. Thus, exports will slow down until exporters feel secure with the quality and shelf life of their products.
