New Zealand meat exporters are reporting high demand for their products globally. This is putting upwards pressure on the prices of meat from NZ. In addition to that, the situation is making it very difficult to procure any products from a well-established supply chain with a strong representation in most markets. To enter these markets will mean very competitive prices with very favorable payment terms. It also limits favorite cuts available for new customers. Things might worsen as New Zealand will go into its lower volume season as winter approaches.
