High Demand for Turkish Olive and Olive Oil Results in Increased Export Volume and Value for the 2022 Season

The export volume of green olives from Turkey increased to 30,000MT in 2022 compared to last season's 21,000MT, with revenue at USD 48M representing a 35% increase YoY. As for olive oil exports, volume increased by 28% YoY from 40,000MT in 2021 to 52,000MT in 2022, with revenue at USD 180M representing a 44% increase. Additionally, the price per litre of olive oil increased by 15.5% YoY from USD 3.03 to USD 3.50. Better and larger harvest volumes in Turkey are expected in the new season compared to the 2021 season. However, yields are expected to remain low in Spain and Italy due to heat waves and drought.
