Traditional Chinese ginger importing markets, such as South Africa, Zimbabwe, Egypt, and some North African countries, are sending in a large number of queries to Indian ginger suppliers.
The primary cause of this has been covid-19 which has caused distrust and somewhat fear among importers and also disruption of the supply chain.
Indian ginger's size and quality has also caused much interest among importers in these countries. Unofficially, some associations have decided to shift from Chinese ginger and other Chinese agricultural products to other sourcing countries.
