High Demand for Squid Tentacles in Portugal

The demand in Portugal for squid tentacles, mostly sizes 500-1000 and 1000 up, have surged during July and August. In the Portuguese market it is a cheaper alternative for octopus tentacles which are always trading at very high prices. During present difficult economic times, where every cent counts, the demand for squid tentacles increased in the face of limited supply. Prices are on an upward trend and are expected to keep rising.
