Mexican states like Michoacán, Zacatecas, San Luis, and Jalisco are facing a jalapeño pepper shortage in W36 due to the effect of hurricane Kay. The demand for this product is constant, but the hurricane affected plantations and the quality of the product. In W36, the FOB price of a 30lb box of jumbo jalapeño pepper in the McAllen market stood at USD 25-30.
