Since the start of 2023, the Brazilian garlic market has faced challenges due to low prices. The high availability of Argentinian garlic has dropped prices by 30% YoY, pushing domestic garlic prices down and affecting the imports of Chinese garlic. By the end of April, Argentina finished its harvest and sold only stored garlic, which increased prices, with offers of around USD 17/10 kg box FCA-Argentina. Prices are forecasted to rise to USD 19/10 kg box by the end of the stock. The price of Chinese garlic increased from USD 8/10 kg box to USD 12/10 kg box in W18 due to its season-ending, and offers are for stored garlic.
