Production of exotic fruit is being constantly improved in Sicily and Apulia Italian region. If strange fruit production was able to serve only niche markets/customers at the beginning of this new Italian challenge, now crops have reached interesting volumes for export, and prices are becoming attractive for foreign customers. Lidl Germany has recently introduced the import of Sicilian Hass Avocado, and it can be found in shops in two fruit packs (320g guaranteed weight) with a retail price of USD 3.23 which means roughly USD 10.09/kg.
