Vietnam significantly grew rice exports, reaching 500 thousand tons in Jan-24, equivalent to USD 347 million. This marked a 39% year-over-year (YoY) increase in volume and an 86% YoY increase in value. The average export price for rice in Jan-24 also rose by 34% YoY, reaching USD 694 per ton. Following a peak of USD 663 per ton at the end of Nov-23, the price of Vietnam's 5% broken rice experienced a slight decline but remained above USD 650 per ton. However, by the end of Jan-24, Vietnam's rice export prices had consistently decreased, reaching USD 642 per ton.
