In the first half of Jan-24, Vietnam exported 194,074 metric tons (mt) of rice, generating a turnover of USD 134.57 million, according to preliminary statistics from the General Department of Customs. Despite a decrease in quantity, the turnover increased due to a notable rise in the average rice price per mt. In this period, the average value per mt of rice reached about USD 693/mt, representing a significant increase of 36.68% year-on-year (YoY) compared to USD 507/mt in 2023.
