Increased Price For Seedless and Seeded Watermelon Harvest in 2023

Input costs for Watermelon Panama have significantly increased this year. Panama watermelon suppliers are reporting a 10% increase in the price for seeds alone, plus other high costs for plastics, cardboards, and fertilizers, among others. Ex-work prices for next year's harvest program will be impacted with an increase of 11% to 13% YoY compared to the 2022 harvest for both seedless (Ana/Prestige) and seeded varieties (Quetzaly).
