Tanzania leads in common bean production but still needs to scale up

Tanzania dominates the Common Beans production in East Africa. The local demand of the country is approximately 1 metric ton and bean production is around 1.2 metric tons. The excess of common beans is sold in Rwanda, Kenya, Zambia, DRC, Malawi, and Burundi. As the demand for common beans continue to grow in the domestic and international markets, the country needs to scale up its production.
