Indonesia will apply VAT (Value Added Tax) for the premium food products. Food products such as rice, corn, soybeans, meat, eggs, fruit, vegetables, for all types and quality categories, were previously exempted from tax. The regulation will divide these products into premium and non-premium categories. The new tax scheme will be imposed to products that fall into the premium category. Non premium food products will still be exempt from tax.
