Indonesian government puts efforts to ramp up peanut production

Sragen, Central Java, is one of the agricultural production centers in Indonesia, and the local government has continued to try to ramp up peanut production since 2020. The target for 2022 is to reach 4,390 hectares of total peanut production area, an 35.8% increase from 2021 when the entire production area was 3,232 hectares.

The estimated peanut production in 2022 only for the Sragen area is 19,755 MT in 2022, and 50% of the production is targeted for export. Meanwhile, peanut export from Indonesia is in dried, peeled kernel shape.
