Iran exports USD 95 million worth of spices, mainly saffron, during first five months

Iran has exported 17.8K MT of spices from Mar 20 - Aug 21 during the current fiscal year, generating close to USD 95 million in revenue.

Around 89 tons out of the total exports are said to be of saffron shipments which represents 70% of the total export revenue.

The country has imported 15.4K MT of spices worth USD 28.3 thousand in the same period with the main product being ginger. Iran has imported spices in the mentioned period mainly from India, UAE, and China.
