Iran sees increase in red meat production by over 40%

Iranian red meat production output has recorded an increase of 41% in the fifth month of the current year, July 22-Aug 21, and reached 37.1 KMT. Beef and veal were the leading products with over 21 MT production in the same period. The annual expectation is for red meat to reach 880 KMT by the end of the current fiscal year. Iran's red meat consumption is 12.5 kg/capita and the country is planning to reduce red meat imports by boosting the production output.
