Japan has now detected a new outbreak of bird flu at a farm in southwest Fukuoka Prefecture, in addition to the eight already registered at Kagawa Prefecture, west of Tokyo, the government said on Wednesday. About 93,500 chickens on a poultry farm in the town of Munakata in Fukuoka will be slaughtered and more than 1.3 million chickens have already been slaughtered this month.
