These improved grazing conditions contribute to higher volumes at the sale yards and continue the downward pressure on prices as expected. Exported prices are expected to decrease as volumes increase and warmer weather with good rainfall arises. The following are the average local slaughter price trends for W48:
Steer NI P2 (300kg): USD 4.03/kg (NZD 6.30/kg), a 2.3% drop in price compared to W47 when prices stood at USD 4.13/kg (NZD 6.45/kg)
Lamb NI (18kg) - USD 5.28/kg (NZD 8.25/kg), a 1.8% drop in price compared to W47 when prices stood at USD 5.37/kg (NZD 8.40/kg)
