The price of locally produced salt drastically increased in Q2 2023. The salt prices at the farm gate level climbed to more than three times the normal price due to decreased salt supplies and low local salt production due to weather anomalies. In the last three years, local salt production has continued to decline. In 2022, salt production fell by around 30% YoY. Currently, production is still low due to ongoing rain intensity.
