At the end of 2022, the demand for Indonesian desiccated coconut is still weak from the South American and European markets, both for high-fat and low-fat quality coconut. These two regions account for more than half of the export market share of the DC from Indonesia. This decrease in demand keeps prices at a lower level. The manufacturers are concerned that the market will still not recover in Q1 of 2023. The demand from the European market fell due to the economic situation there. Meanwhile, according to information from the importers in South America, shipments decline due to the changes in the regulations in the export transaction payment system was more stringent from the 2nd semester of 2022.
