In 2022, national cattle yards increased by 35% in Australia. A combination of increased supply and greater weights (overweight) of cattle through the sale yards saw reduced prices. The Eastern Young Cattle Indicator held firm at USD 6.77/kg (AUD 10.19/kg) for CWT (carcase weight) with continued strong re-stocker demand. The feeder steer indicator softened USD 0.10 (AUD 15 cents) on W45.
