The blueberry market in the Netherlands is experiencing consistent price decreases as higher volumes arrive. W39 started with values around USD 13.67 for blueberries packaged in 12x125 format, and USD 27.35 for blueberries in bulk (3.5kg box). However, as the week progressed, sales stagnated due to a greater supply from Peru in the market, which pushed the price down. By Friday of W39 a box of 12x125 trading at USD 12.21 while blueberries in bulk traded at USD 24.42.

Blueberry importers expect prices to decline further in the coming weeks due to an oversupply of blueberries, mainly from Peru. It is anticipated that Peru will ship 25% more blueberries to Europe in 2022, and they have already begun to load volumes destined for Europe in larger volumes compared to previous years.
