Improved Rainfall Results in Yield Boost for Minor Season Harvest of White Maize in Ghana

Improved rainfall in the maize growing areas in the Bono East region of Ghana has contributed to significant yields in spite of low fertiliser application due to rising costs. Prices in W37 for new maize range between USD 314-320/MT EXW compared to old maize prices which are USD 366/MT EXW. Aggregators and traders still prefer old maize over new maize because it is well dried.
