Higher Volume of Lemons Available in the Ongoing 2022/23 Spanish Primofiori Campaign, but Not Enough to Cover Demand

Although the volume of lemons available during the ongoing 2022/23 Primofiori campaign in Spain has increased, it is still insufficient to cover European demand. This is mainly due to drought and extreme heat in Spain experienced in 2022, which caused at least a 10% decrease in harvest quantities compared to the 2021/22 season. However, full production is expected to be achieved within 15 days, and the degreening process will still be required after that. Prices in W45 remain stable, at USD 1.21/kg for Cat I and USD 0.91/Kg for a good Cat II at EXW Spain, representing a 7% YoY increase.
