Morocco's citrus production is expected to reach 2.3M MT in the 2020/2021 crop year, 32% more than the previous season, according to data from the US Department of Agriculture (USDA).
The increase in the Moroccan citrus harvest is based on an increase in the area sown; as well as a new irrigation strategy that offsets the extended drought period in 2020, according to the recently released US Department of Agriculture report.
Morocco's mandarin harvest is estimated to increase by 30% from the previous year, reaching 1.2M MT. Orange production will increase by 27% to 1.1M MT. As for lemons and limes, a harvest of 44K MT is expected
