There is currently a mushroom shortage in South Africa, with about 20% fewer mushrooms, estimated at 75 MT weekly supplied in the market. Johannesburg market confirmed not having received any mushrooms in W15. The shortage is a result of production challenges due to lack of electricity caused by load shedding and high input costs.
