New Zealand Avocados have seen an incredibly stable increase in maturity that was not the standard norm in previous seasons. The weather has played a significant role in keeping the fruit cool and irrigated, which resulted in slow, steady, and partly prolonged harvesting strategies. New Zealand Avocados are cleared for export when the fruit reaches 23% maturity and with three months into export, the maturity shows a stable 24.4%. This trend will see exporters using shipping freight for longer before committing to costly air freight.
