The cocoa farmer association in Nigeria plans to make Nigeria the highest cocoa producer in West Africa by 2027 with a target of 500,000mt by 2024 from the current average of 250,000mt annual production. It will support the farmers with all necessary support, inputs and chemicals to boost production.

Moreover, spraying activities on the cocoa farm are expected to start from May as rainfall is beginning to be established across the cocoa growing hub, which will lead to early cocoa pod formation and fruiting.
