The proposed excise duty of USD 0.02 per litre imposed on all non-alcoholic and sweetened beverages also known as 'Sugar Tax' by the Federal Ministry of Finance, Budget and National Planning may lead to hike in the price of not only carbonated drinks but also confectionery, which includes bread and bakery products.
