Chile's coho salmon exports reached 26,438 metric tons in Nov-23, showing a notable increase in 2023. However, compared to Nov-22, they were 6% year-on-year (YoY) lower, attributed to a challenging market situation. The coho salmon market faced an increased supply of 30% compared to the previous season and stable demand, leading to lower sales prices. Importers hesitated due to this trend. The top three destination countries for exports were Japan (57%), Brazil (6%), and Vietnam (6%). From Jan-23 to Nov-23, the volumes exported to Japan, Brazil, and Vietnam were 89,698 MT, 9,930 MT, and 9,257 MT, respectively.
