Increasing Prices of Rice Encourage Thai Farmers to Cultivate In-Season Rice Despite High Production Costs

Rising rice prices have encouraged Thai farmers to continue cultivating in-season rice despite the high production costs. It is due to global markets' increased demand to address the food security challenge, which was impacted by the Russian-Ukrainian conflict and India's rice export restrictions. It has caused damage to rice production in major producers and large consumers like China, whose demands have increased due to the opening of its country. Thailand is more prepared for productivity than its competitors, making it an opportunity for them to raise their rice export prices. As a result, the selling price of rice that farmers can sell remains high.
